Cool things people do with events

Just wanted to share some little event systems made by Titanhex:

Fancy Shop
This makes the player actively select an item on the map to buy it. Not sure if it wouldn’t become a bit bothersome in the long run (for player and developer alike) but still, that’s pretty cool.

Furniture selector
Another clever use of events to let you change the furniture of a room.

Hunger and Thirst
I’ll be frank, I can’t stand these systems. Hell I have enough trouble managing my own bodily functions when I’m deeply immersed in a RPG, so the last thing I need is having to manage my character’s bodily functions. In any case, this is the kind of things people tend to request scripts for a lot, and as you can see, it’s perfectly doable without.

Grapple Hook
An event system replicating the famous grapple hook from the old Zelda games. This one used to be quite popular on RM2k games.

Doesn’t it make you want to create some badass systems with events?

Here’s a rewritten Plane class to fix the parallax problem occurring with Esrever’s hacked DLL (for higher resolutions). As you can see if you click the pic, the game window is 1024×640 in this example. Nothing particularly revolutionary or impressive (it has been done countless times on RMXP with custom resolution scripts) but since I need it for myself, thought I’d share it.

It’s plug-and-play by the way, unless you have some special additions to the Plane class.

Might and Magic is mean to me :<

That’s Larry Elmore for you.

Once upon a time (last week) I felt like playing the glorious game Might and Magic VI again and was very aggravated upon realizing it doesn’t work on my computer (ok, this is an old game). So I made this script to vent my frustration D:
It’s the Ace version of the spell Lloyd’s Beacon. Hope you’ll like it.

By the way, I also updated Animated Battlers to the version 1.01, to fix a compatibility issue with Banish Skills.
